Set within the awe-inspiring architecture of one of England’s ancient cathedrals, Ripon Cathedral invites you to an unforgettable summer evening celebrating the very best of the British choral tradition—with a delightful dash of British wit.

The Summer Choir Concert promises a rich tapestry of sound, showcasing the nation’s musical heritage with rousing patriotic flair. Bring your family, friends, flags and finest singing voices to experience the acoustic splendour of our internationally acclaimed choir in the breathtaking setting of Ripon Cathedral on Saturday, 5th July 2025, at 7:30 pm.

The first half of the programme will feature timeless cathedral classics, including Handel’s Zadok the Priest and Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens.

The second half shifts to a lighter tone, showcasing the choir’s versatility with choral arrangements of beloved themes from Mr. Bean and The Vicar of Dibley. The lay clerks will delight audiences with close harmony renditions reminiscent of the 1930s, culminating in stirring performances of Elgar’s Land of Hope and Glory and Parry’s Jerusalem.

Everyone is encouraged to bring flags and participate in this vibrant celebration of British choral music; the choir’s final performance before going on tour to Westminster Abbey later in July.
