Ripon Cathedral Renewed: finding a way forward for the cathedral annex

The latest update on the cathedral’s proposed annex – a booklet answering the common questions, timetable for drop-in sessions and a feedback form.

February 9, 2024

To take you through the plans in more detail, we have created a leaflet that is now available online and will be available in the cathedral from Monday. This leaflet answers common questions and directs you to more detailed information on the North Yorkshire Council planning portal.

For those interested, there will be drop-in sessions at either the cathedral or town hall. These sessions are open to all and members of the cathedral team will be present to address any questions you may have.

Feedback forms for additional comments can be accessed online, or in the cathedral from Monday. In addition Ripon BID will be liaising with its member businesses to collate their feedback.

During the next two months of further consultation, we hope to engage with as many people as possible, raise awareness of the benefits of the proposed plans, answer questions, dispel myths and identify areas for creative thinking around possible amendments, while considering the overall requirements.

Despite extensive assessments with external professionals and regulatory bodies, a solution that retains the 11 trees has not yet been found.
