Ripon Theatre Festival: Mr Owen’s Pocketbook
Wilfred Owen lived his last summer in Ripon. He spent his last birthday in the Cathedral which now provides a fitting backdrop for Rupert Mason’s one-man performance.
An officer travels from Allied HQ to the Western Front one week before the Armistice and discovers the pocket book of a young lieutenant killed that day.
The show movingly explores Wilfred Owen’s experience of war through his own and the poetry of his contemporaries.
Written and directed by award-winning writer Justin Butcher.
