Finzi: Intimations of Immortality

Poulenc: Gloria, Organ Concerto

Our Spring concert is Finzi’s setting of Wordsworth’s Ode in one continuous movement. The mood changes from pastoral lyricism through intimate reflection to an extrovert depiction of birdsong and the joy of flowers in Spring. “The things which I have seen I now can do no more”

Plus enjoy two of Poulenc’s most celebrated works: his Gloria and, while the choir has a rest, his Organ Concerto.

Soloists are Samantha Hay – soprano – Sam Furness – tenor – with organist Tim Harper.
