Reflective Walk with Geoff Ashton

Join Executive Coach and Education volunteer, Geoff Ashton, in a 45-minute interactive reflective walk.

Among the 45 stained glass windows in the cathedral are 33 “memorial” windows, commissioned to remember the lives of much loved friends and relatives. Who are these people memorialised in glass? What do we know of their stories, their friends, their characters and beliefs? What are they still saying to us today?

Join Executive Coach and Education volunteer, Geoff Ashton, in a 45-minute interactive reflective walk. Explore with other visitors, the history, deeper story and contemporary message of three memorial windows featuring the beloved wife of a bishop, the mother of a famous local businessman, and a future king of the United Kingdom.

At the end of the walk, you will have a better appreciation of the history celebrated in the cathedral, a  deeper understanding of symbolism used in ecclesiastical stained glass, and clues to find further information or to inspire deeper reflection on these magnificent works of art.
