Outdoor Art Workshop with Artist-in-Residence
Ripon Cathedral is delighted to welcome award-winning artist Lewis Hazelwood-Horner as Artist in Residence this September. Known for his bold oil paintings and his ability to capture both landscape and industry, Lewis is inspired by Yorkshire’s people and places – and will be creating new work right here in the cathedral.
Lewis will also lead a hands-on art workshop in the cathedral grounds (with an indoor option if the weather turns). After a short demonstration in oils, Lewis will move among participants to offer encouragement and tips.
Open to students (GCSE, FE, art projects), hobbyists, and anyone keen to try their hand at drawing or painting the Cathedral.
Bring your own materials, paint in the medium of your choice; easels welcome but not required.
Cost: £15 per person, including refreshments and a short break midway.
Whether you are a practicing artist, a student, or simply curious, this is a rare chance to engage with an acclaimed painter at work in the magnificent setting of Ripon Cathedral.
