Revd. Toddy Hoare trained as a sculptor, served as a soldier, was ordained as a parish priest and went on to serve 25 years in the Hillside Parishes on the edge of the Moors near Thirsk while illustrating scripture in 3D. For 15 years he was chaplain to the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. Since retiring from full-time parish ministry he has taken up the pen again to write poetry and theology besides having all the pleasure and none of the responsibility while helping on Sundays during interregnums in many churches.
