Inspired Light: A Series of Guided Tours on Ripon Cathedral’s Stained Glass

Explore the Light and Legacy of Ripon Cathedral’s Stained Glass

As part of the the Inspired by William Morris’ Stained Glass Exhibition (running from 23 April to 30 June), Ripon Cathedral invites you to a special series of three guided tours, uncovering the beauty and meaning behind its magnificent stained glass windows.

Led by our knowledgeable guides, these engaging walks and talks will explore the inspirations behind the windows and their continued significance today.

The Medieval and Oldest Glass – Thursday, 22 May 2025 at 2:15 pm
Victorian Stories in Glass – Thursday, 29 May 2025 at 2:15 pm
Modern Images in Glass – Thursday, 5 June 2025 at 2:15 pm

Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and involves walking through the cathedral.

Tickets at £5 per person are payable in advance via the cathedral shop or on the day.

On the evening of Monday 19 May, the cathedral welcomes author, commentator and lecturer on William Morris, Dr Ingrid Hanson. Dr Hanson will explore the radical inspirations behind Morris’s vision for a shared and just world. Click here for more information.
