Event Volunteers

Ripon Cathedral is recruiting volunteers to help with the set up and take down of events. Duties will include lifting and carrying, building and dismantling stages, and helping out with specific event tasks. Events include the annual Beer Festival, Christmas and Spring Fairs and various concerts.

What qualities do I need?

The role is quite physically demanding so you must be prepared to be on your feet for long periods, walking between buildings and comfortable lifting and carrying bulky items such as chairs, staging blocks and tables.

You will also need to be comfortable working in a team in a fast paced environment that can change quickly.

No-one will ask you to do or carry more than you are comfortable with. There will always be someone around you can ask for assistance if you would like it.

Time commitment

This can vary from an hour or two to a full day. A list of upcoming events will be sent out, generally monthly, with a description of what is needed and you can choose what you wish to join in with.
