Terms and Conditions

Booking Ticketed Events at Ripon Cathedral

These terms and conditions related to Ripon Cathedral-organised events, and not Third Party hirers, who have their own terms and conditions.

  1. Booking and Admission
  2. All bookings must be made via the official Ripon Cathedral channels.
  3. A valid ticket is required for entry to all events and must be produced upon request.
  4. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable except where Ripon Cathedral cancels or postpones the event. In such cases, refunds will be issued for the ticket face value only (excluding any booking fees if applicable).

2. Cancellations and Changes

  1. Ripon Cathedral reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or make changes to the advertised event programme, including, but not limited to, start times, content, performers, and layout. Notification will be given where possible.
  2. In the event of cancellation by Ripon Cathedral, you will be offered a refund or the option to transfer your ticket to a rescheduled event.
  3. If you wish to cancel your booking, tickets remain non-refundable under all normal circumstances.
  4. Changes or transfers may be possible at the Cathedral’s discretion and may incur a modest administration charge.

3. Conduct and Restrictions

  1. Entry may be refused or attendees ejected in cases of disruptive or inappropriate behaviour, or if any obligations set out in these terms are breached.
  2. Children must be supervised and, for certain events, there may be age restrictions or requirements for child tickets.
  3. Mobile phones and all noise-making devices should be silenced during events.
  4. Smoking is prohibited anywhere on Cathedral property.

4. Accessibility and Special Provisions

  1. The Cathedral strives to be accessible. Please contact us in advance if you have specific requirements. Please contact: events@riponcathedral.org.uk
  2. Personal Assistance tickets may be available for registered disabled guests (supporting documentation may be required).
  3. Please note that we do not have public toilets available within the cathedral. Public toilets (including accessible toilets) are available during events in Minster Gardens (just across the road from the cathedral). There is level access from the cathedral to the toilets.
  4. The nearest public parking is available at Cathedral Car Park (behind Sainsburys) – Visit North Yorkshire | Cathedral Car Park Ripon (with St Marygate…. This is a 2 minute walk from the cathedral.

5. Liability and Belongings

  1. Attendees are responsible for their personal belongings at all times. The Cathedral accepts no liability for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
  2. Attendees are liable for any loss or damage caused deliberately or negligently to the Cathedral or its property.

6. Prohibited Items and Security

  1. No alcohol, illegal substances, or hazardous items may be brought onto Cathedral grounds.
  2. Only goods and promotional materials authorised by Ripon Cathedral may be displayed or distributed.
  3. The Cathedral may conduct security searches upon entry.

7. General

  1. Photography, filming, or recording may be restricted; attending may mean consenting to being filmed or recorded as part of audience images for promotional purposes.
  2. Tickets purchased from unauthorised third-party vendors will not be recognised and may result in refusal of admission.
  3. All bookings are subject to the laws of England and Wales and any disputes shall be subject to those courts.
