Children’s Church

Families are warmly invited to Ripon Cathedral this autumn as Children’s Church returns in refreshed form from Sunday September 7, running every Sunday at the 10.30am Eucharist during term time.

August 26, 2025

Two age-specific groups have been carefully designed to help children explore faith through fun, creativity and worship:

  • Mustard Seeds (ages 0–6, with parents/carers or any primary child who enjoys this style)
Taking place in the Cathedral Library, Mustard Seeds offers younger children the chance to worship through singing, storytelling and craft. Families gather after the first hymn and rejoin the main congregation in time for Holy Communion.
  • Mighty Trees (ages 7–11)
Meeting in the Chapel of the Resurrection, Mighty Trees is a lively space for worship with games, stories and activities inspired by the theme of the day. Children can be dropped off from 10.15am before the main Sunday service begins.

Canon Wendy, Canon Pastor, Ripon Cathedral, said:
“We are thrilled to be refreshing Children’s Church this autumn. These groups give children a wonderful opportunity to grow in faith, make friends and engage with worship in ways that are joyful, creative and age-appropriate. We look forward to welcoming families old and new to the cathedral this term.”
