The cash awarded to Ripon will support the choir administrator, freeing up funds which can then be used to promote more instrumental teaching and vocal coaching for its 43 choristers.

Director of Music Dr Ronny Krippner said: “We are particularly grateful that the Cathedral Music Trust has just awarded us a grant of £12,500, which will enable us to promote more instrumental teaching and vocal coaching with the children.

“It is important to get the message out that whilst we are currently in a safe place financially, we constantly have to be creative in generating enough income to allow for ever-increasing opportunities for our children. We are very grateful that a music appeal has been launched by the cathedral and we are trying to inspire people to support musical excellence for children in this vast rural area.”

It costs £300,000 a year to keep the choir singing and the music playing at the cathedral. To read more and to give your support please visit our music page.
