Ripon Sights and Sounds has become a well-established annual event, celebrating the enormous amount of good work done to strengthen community, meet peoples’ needs, and make Ripon a great destination for people to visit.

The cathedral hosted a large number of organisations with their stands and members. There was also a series of choirs, providing great entertainment, and the popular Walled Garden pop-up café. Other venues also played their part, such as Ripon Library, Ripon Community House and Ripon Museums, enabling leaders and members from additional organisations to set out ‘their stall’, sharing the good news of what they are doing and inviting others to join in.  

We were pleased to welcome numerous youth-based organisations, including the Youth Council, uniformed organisations, the YMCA and the cathedral’s children and youth organisations – including a group of cathedral choristers, talking to visitors about their music and raising funds with a fun chocolate themed stall!

Those attending included volunteers and employees, charities and emergency services, carers of the vulnerable and the environment, promoters of learning and leisure, churches and bodies supporting military veterans, providers of music and theatre and those preserving heritage.
