Festal Eucharist and Procession for Candlemas

The Famous Annual Candlemas service at Ripon Cathedral is taking place on Saturday January 31 at 5.30pm.

The cathedral will be lit by thousands of candles as we celebrate the light of Christ conquering the world’s darkness. The cathedral choir will lead the worship and during the service the congregation will be invited to process around the church with their own candles.

Vital role of farmers celebrated at Plough Sunday Service

The vital contribution of farmers to feeding the nation and managing the countryside is being celebrated at a special service supported by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.
All are welcome at the Plough Sunday Service on Sunday 11 January as blessings and thanks are offered to farming families, and an address is given by the Archbishop of York, The Most Rev Stephen Cottrell.
