The dean is delighted to share with you the news that BBC One will be with us at Ripon Cathedral on Easter Day, broadcasting our Festal Eucharist live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. It is good to have the spotlight on North Yorkshire and the Diocese of Leeds, Church of England as we celebrate the resurrection. We’ll share more details over coming weeks!

Yesterday’s Choral Evensong was a triumph, with the service broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
Listeners who missed it can catch up on BBC Sounds, and the service will be repeated on Radio 3 on February 15 at 3pm.

Dean John was delighted to welcome and install Mr Tom Fielden as the cathedral’s new Canon Treasurer and Bishop Malcolm Chamberlain,The Rev Dr Alan Garrow and The Rev Darryl Hall as Honorary Canons.

The position at the North’s top-performing state school – the first in living memory –  is being offered to a gifted young musician with a passion for the organ who will receive world class organ tuition by the cathedral’s acclaimed musicians.
