Mahler’s Symphony No 1, with its musical links to his song cycle ‘Songs of a Wayfarer’ meets Helena Munktell’s rich and colourful depiction of the sea, ‘Breaking Waves’ and Elgar’s well-loved setting of 5 nautical poems, ’Sea Pictures’, sung by mezzo soprano, Beth Taylor, lauded for her ’strong presence’, sensational coloratura’ and ‘intriguing depth’.
