We are very much looking forward to welcoming a choir from Prenzlau in North Germany on Tuesday July 14.

The large and imposing Marienkirche there has recently been celebrating the installation of an historic organ from 1904 by the famous English organ builder, William Hill, which was gifted to them.

The 27-strong choir has been visiting a number of English churches with Hill organs and although the Ripon Cathedral organ has only a tenuous connection with Hill, the choir has offered to give a short lunchtime concert at 1pm with works by Felix Mendelssohn, Ola Geilo and Johann Steuerlein – accompanied on the organ by Ripon Cathedral’s Director of Music, Dr Ronny Krippner.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
