Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season when we pause and reflect.

All are warmly invited to join us on February 18 for the Eucharist with the Imposition of Ashes, held at 10am and 7.30pm.

Dean John was delighted to welcome and install Mr Tom Fielden as the cathedral’s new Canon Treasurer and Bishop Malcolm Chamberlain,The Rev Dr Alan Garrow and The Rev Darryl Hall as Honorary Canons.

The position at the North’s top-performing state school – the first in living memory –  is being offered to a gifted young musician with a passion for the organ who will receive world class organ tuition by the cathedral’s acclaimed musicians.
